UFC: Dream Lesnar Opponents

Brock Lesnar's first run in the UFC took place between 2007 and 2011 and saw the Beast in Incarnate take on, and in most cases take down, the best that the company had to offer.  After his last match in UFC Lesnar returned to World Wrestling Entertainment in 2012 and stayed in the wrestling scene for 6 years (bar one fight) with millions of fans worldwide believing that Lesnar would never fully return to the octagon, that was until last week.  At UFC 226 after watching the main event between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic, Lesnar entered the octagon and shoved Heavyweight Champion Cormier, officially stating his UFC return to the world.  With the Beast returning in such monumental fashion it is only correct that we take a look at 3 dream opponents we hope to see from Lesnar over the next year or so.

Daniel Cormier

Daniel Cormier, the current UFC Heavyweight Champion and the man who Lesnar confronted during his UFC return, would make excellent competiton for the Beast.  Not just is Cormier strong in the Octagon but he has the attitude and arrogance that doesn't just match Lesnar's but also exceeds it meaning a showdown would not just be a match, but a spectacle.  Add to that the fact that the Title would most likely be on the line then we are in for a real treat.  As unfair as it is that Brock would get a Title match upon his return it would bring in the crowds and help UFC as a company.  If Cormier could defeat Lesnar then he would instantly prove himself to be among the bet fighters in history!

CM Punk

A completely unrealistic dream fight for Lesnar would be against former WWE cohort CM Punk.  Although Punk has a terrible 2-0 record in the Octagon, it is the two 'wrestlers' WWE history that make this one interesting.  Lesnar faced CM Punk at SummerSlam 2013 in a match that saw Punk reverse everything the Beast could throw at him before finally falling to an F-5 finisher.  A rematch between the two, but this time a bit more real, would certainly settle the score between the two Mid-westerners.

Frank Mir

The only man EVER to make Brock Lesnar genuinely tap out, Frank Mir is the toughest opponent Lesnar has ever faced whether in WWE or UFC, and the only man to face Lesnar twice in the Octagon.  At UFC 81 in February 2008 Lesnar stepped up to the plate and took on Mir in the Minnesota native's second fight only for Mir to clamp on the Knee Bar and cause Lesnar to tap out just 1 minute 30 seconds into the 1st round.  Lesnar would get retribution against the Nevadan when he TKO'd him in a brutal contest at UFC 100 in July 2009.  There would be no better match than to see Mir and Lesnar comes to blows for a third and final time to once and for all decide the rivalry's victor.

I believe that Cormier, Punk, and Mir would be interesting (if nothing else) opponents for Lesnar.  Cormier would bring the high-stakes main event feel, CM Punk the entertainment, and Mir the intensity of two rivals wanting revenge.  Who would you like to see Lesnar face in the UFC?  Please comment, like, and come back soon!
