Why Roman Really Sucks

Since the break up of the Shield in June 2014 Roman Reigns became WWE's new poster boy, and the wrestler that would get shoved down the fans throats for the next 4 years.  In these 4 years Roman turned from a cheered babyface to a 'booed out of the building' babyface.  Although millions of fans hate Reigns, and millions like him, not everyone understands exactly why he is hated so much and why the crowd's reaction is so sour every time he makes his entrance.  The reason is simple and has already been stated in this article....he is a babyface.  Other than the fact that he can't wrestle that well and his promos are as exciting as listening to 3 hours of nails of a chalkboard, the fact that The Big Dog has been presented as a babyface for 4 straight years is the foundation as to why he has not yet been accepted by the universe, and quite frankly his wrestling and mic skills play little factor.

Let's think for a second, Reigns defeated the Undertaker at Wrestlemania (heel move), he defeated John Cena at No Mercy 2017 (heel move), and  is often caught talking crap to his opponents during his matches shows that, naturally, he is more suited to a bad guy gimmick.  His ex-Shield buddy Seth Rollins was most popular from June 2014, when he broke up the Shield, until October 2015 when he sustained an injury, as during this period he was the coolest heel in the company, becoming popular not because people liked him but because people loved to hate him.  Any superstar that can stir peoples emotions in a heelish manner is good for business and overall popularity will cause people to tune in and will inevitability win their support.  The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, John Cena, and Randy Orton have all followed this route and look what happened to them, they are adored by the fans and have respect beyond measure, two things which Reigns lacks.

When a part of The Shield, Reigns was one of the most popular acts in the business, now he is presented as a lame shadow of his former self.  Even after defeating Taker at Mania, Reigns was still portrayed as being a good guy when we all know that scoring a victory over the Deadman is a criminal offence and would have been the perfect platform for Roman to make a permanent heel turn.  Due to ill booking and bad creativity, along with McMahon's stubbornness, Reigns is booed not because people hate to love him but because people genuinely hate him, something which no wrestler or promotion wants to happen.  What are your thoughts on why Reigns is hated so much?  Please comment, like, and follow for more Wrestling!
