Greatest TakeOver Brooklyn Match?

With much hype from the WWE Universe surrounding Summerslam it seems apparent that many people have let slip the fact that the night before we will be getting the 4th installment of TakeOver Brooklyn, a show that over the years has helped elevate NXT to the next level.  Throughout it's first three years Brooklyn shows have played host to some of the best matches in wrestling history, which in turn have enabled NXT to showcase some of the greatest show in WWE history.  With Brooklyn shows being so successful, and this years event being only 3 weeks away, the time is finally right to take a look at some of it's best contests!

5) Drew McIntyre vs. Bobby Roode- Brooklyn III

Drew McIntyre returned to the WWE in 2017 with the intention of proving a point that the company was wrong to mistreat him the first time round, which saw him leave a few years earlier to pursue Indy success.  McIntyre was thrust into the limelight when on August 19th 2017, at Brooklyn II, he went up against then NXT Champion Bobby Roode with the title on the line and would go on to have a thriller of a bout.  After over 20 minutes of hard-hitting action, and receiving two Glorious DDT's, the Scot hit a second Claymore Kick which was enough to defeat Roode and win the Title for the first time in his career.  What was just as impressive as the match itself was what happened afterwards, with ReDragon and new roster member Adam Cole making it into the ring before Cole Superkicked McIntyre and holding the title high above his head.

4) Finn Balor vs. Kevin Owens- Brooklyn I

In the first main event in Brooklyn history the NXT Championship was on the line in a ladder match, with Finn Balor defending against Kevin Owens.  The match featured many intense spots inducing a brawl through the crowd, a Powerbomb onto the ring apron and even a Coup de Grace off a ladder.  These spots didn't just look cool but they allowed Balor and Owens to tell the story that even though in the 'developmental brand' the NXT Title was worth all the effort they could muster in order to walk out with the belt over their respective shoulder.  After 21 minutes it was Balor who was successful in retaining his title after the aforementioned Coup de Grace and climbing the ladder to retrieve the strap.  This match was spectacular and was the climax to an impressive rivalry.

3) The Revival vs. DIY- Brooklyn II

In Summer 2016 the NXT Tag Team scene was at an all-time high with multiple teams putting on excellent contests week in a week out, however, it was at Brooklyn II in which the best of all the tag bouts took place.  In a match where the NXT Tag Team Titles were on the line, NXT veterans The Revival went head to head with Indy veterans Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano, better known as DIY.  Many thought that DIY would out wrestler the Southern Style championship, but in what was a shock to most, the match was pretty equal with both teams giving it their all.  Not only did The Revival compete to the highest level but Dawson won the match by forcing Gargano to tap out to an Inverted Figure Four Leglock.  Check this match out if you havn't already, it is a must for all wrestling fans.

2) Bayley vs. Sasha Banks- Brooklyn I

In a match that didn't just impress the audience but took female wrestling to the next level of worldwide respect, Sasha Banks and Bayley went head-to-head for the NXT Women's Championship.  Sasha Banks entered the arena in spectacular fashion, making her way to the ring in an Cadillac Escalade, belt around her waist and personifying 'The Boss' that she is.  It was Bayley who left the ring on top however as she defeated Banks after 18 minutes by using a second Bayley-to-Belly Suplex.  After the match Bayley and Banks were joined by fellow Horsewomen Charlotte and Sasha Banks.  It will forever be a match and moment to remember.

1) Andrade Almas vs. Johnny Gargano- Brooklyn III

In 2017 NXT was going through a transformation, that being the change from WWE's third brand to one that is more like an Indy promotion but with more financial backing.  At the forefront of this Indy transformation was Andrade Almost and Johnny Gargano, two men who have had well over a decade of experience of the independent circuit.  This was the show opener (after dark matches) and was a cracker of a contest.  Not only did Gargano and Almas perform to their highest standard but Zelina Vega was a welcomed addition at ringside.  Although the match only lasted 13 minutes it was non-stop from both competitors but in the end Almas was victorious after Vega threw a shirt at Gargano enabling the former La Sombra to hit his signature Hammerlock DDT for the 3-count.

So it was the instant classic between Almas an Gargano that tops Wrestling Boom's list, but what I would like to know is what is your favorite Brooklyn match of all time?  Please comment and stay tuned.
