Top 5 Wrestlers in TNA History!

TNA, formerly Global Force and now Impact Wrestling, is one of the world's most popular promotions and has been on a rocky road ever since it first appeared on our screens in 2002.  Although the company has gone through many phases it has also played host to some of the greatest wrestlers in history, a few of which remained with the company for the better part of a decade.  Today, the company's roster is full of hidden gem talents who are putting on spectacular matches, adding to the contests put on by outstanding performers of the past.  Here are Impact wrestling's greatest wrestlers of all time.

5) Samoa Joe

The Samoan Submission Machine made his TNA debut at Slammiversary in 2005 by defeating Sonjay Dutt and has never once looked back.  Within a month Joe had put on a 5 star match against AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels at Unbreakable and later that year would capture the X Division Title for the first time.  Since then Joe went on to win the X Division Title multiple times before becoming TNA World Heavyweight Champion at Lockdown 2008, enabling him to enjoy a 6 month reign.  Throughout his Impact wrestling career Joe defeated the likes of AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, and Sting, won multiple titles, and was a part of the main event mafia all before leaving the company in 2015.

4) Austin Aries

A Double, Austin Aries, has had three different stints with Impact wrestling, first appearing from 2005 until 2007 as part of the company's X Division, most notably feuding with Low Ki.  Aries returned to the company in 2011 and was able to win the X Division Title for the first time by defeating Brian Kendrick at No Surrender.  In 2012 Aries' Impact career was taken to the next level as he defeated the longest reigning World Champion in company history, Bobby Roode, for the belt at Destination X.  Since then Aries has won the Tag Team Titles with Roode, regained the World Heavyweight Title (which he currently holds), and is the current face of the company.  Austin Aries has won so much gold he is known as the Belt Collector.  A key match to check out is Austin Aries vs Moose from Slammiversary 2018.

3) Kurt Angle

When Kurt Angle debuted for TNA wrestling he instantly made an impact by defeating Samoa Joe at Genesis in 2006, ending Joe's undefeated streak.  Just 6 months after defeating Joe, Angle captured the World Heavyweight Championship in a match against Christian Cage and Sting at Sacrifice 2007 in a spectacular match.  From 2008 through till 2012 Angle feuded with the company's best including AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Sting, Jeff Hardy, and Mr Anderson, winning the World Title multiple times.  In 2013 Angle was part of the new Main Event Mafia and was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame. Competing in smaller matches for the next couple of years, Angle had one last spot in the limelight when he played rival to Ethan Carter III over the World Title which he ultimately lost to Mr Cater in June 2015.  For Angle's best match check out his clash with Styles from Sacrifice 2012.

2) Sting

The Stinger debuted in TNA in June 2003, one year after the company's inception, by teaming with fellow WCW veteran Jeff Jarrett to defeat AJ Styles and Syxx Pac.  Sting got his first taste of gold in the company when he won the World Heavyweight Championship at Bound for Glory 2006, knocking Jeff Jarrett off the top to claim it.  Sting would go on to hold the World Title a further three times by defeating Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, and Mr Anderson respectively, with his last reign coming in 2011.  Since then Sting has been inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame, headline Slammiversary XI against Bully Ray and reform the New Main Event Mafia.  Sting is truly an Impact wrestling great and was with the company for an impressive 11 years before leaving.  Watch Sting vs. Samoa Joe from Bound for Glory 2008 and you'll be sure to have a great time.

1) AJ Styles

Here we are at number 1 and there is nobody that deserves this spot more than AJ Styles.  The man formally known as Mr TNA was with the company from day 1, when he took place in a huge 6 man tag team match, until late 2013.  Style is the most decorated wrestler in the company's history having become a multi-time Triple Crown Champion ever since winning his first title, the X Division Championship, back in June 2002.  Styles' first World Title win took place just one year after his debut when he dethroned Jeff Jarrett in a match that also included Raven.  The biggest match in the Phenomenal One's history was when he won the World Title at No Surrender 2009 in a 5 Way contest.  Styles has had killer rivalries with Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, Bully Ray, and even a classic match against The Pope, and has come out on top most times.  Styles is the greatest TNA wrestler of all time and if you haven't already you need to check out his matches on the Global Wrestling Network.
