5 GREATEST TAG TEAMS IN WWE TODAY!

Throughout WWE's history we have witnessed many of the world's best tag teams compete in the squared-circle to put on some of the most memorable matches of all time, however, recently the promotion has gained a negative reputation when it comes to their ability to create tag teams worthy of being called the best of the best.  Although this bad reputation has surrounded the company for a few years I do believe that the tag teams on the roster today are genuinely spectacular.  Here are the top 5 greatest tag teams in WWE today.

5)  The Usos

Jimmy and Jay, The Usos, have been apart of the Smackdown roster since the Brand Split in 2016 and have won the Blue Brand's Tag Team Titles on three separate occasions, holding the gold for a combined 329 days which, let's be honest, is a long time in today's world.  The Usos repackaged themselves in late 2016 as tough street brawlers in an image change that suites their appearance much more than the happy-go-lucky brothers they portrayed previous to this.  The team have improved so much over their time on Smackdown that they have been responsible for some of the best matches in all of WWE over the past couple of years including clashes with The New Day at Summerslam 2017 and Hell in a Cell 2017, as well as against American Alpha.  

4)  Sheamus and Cesaro

Sheamus and Cesaro joined forces in September 2016 as part of the Raw roster and got off to instant success by winning the Red Brand's Tag Teams Titles in December of the same year by dethroning The New Day at TLC.  Since then the powerhouse duo have held the Raw Tag Team Titles 4 times, more than any other team in Raw history, and are currently proving themselves on Smackdown after being drafted in 2018's Superstar Shake-Up.  Sheamus and Cesaro were part of a classic rivalry against the Hardy Boyz in which the teams clashed at Exteme Rules, Payback, and Great Balls of Fire in 2017.  Being the most decorated team in Raw history, it won't be long before they create the same legacy on Smackdown.

3)  The New Day

Similar to Sheamus and Cesaro, The New Day were drafted to Raw in 2016, however, their success has a much longer history, dating back to their first Tag Team Title win at Extreme Rules 2015 in which they defeated Tyson Kidd and Cesaro to claim the gold.  The New Day only won the Raw Titles twice but for a combined total of 533 days, more than any other tandem in the Red Brand's prestigious history.  After being drafted to Smackdown in 2017 The New Day got off to a whopping start by taking the titles from The Usos in July 2017.  Putting on an awesome rivalry with the aforementioned tag team and winning the gold wherever they go, which they currently hold, makes The New Day one of the most successful teams in WWE history.  The only reasons Kingston, Big E, and Woods are not higher on the list is because a change of persona might do them more justice. 

2)  McIntyre and Ziggler

Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler have only been together for a few months but have brought a refreshing vibe to the mostly stagnant Raw Roster.  The duo, reminiscent of Diesel and Shawn Michaels, won the Raw Tag Team Titles from the B-Team, in what was a God Send of a result, on the September 3rd 2018 edition of Raw in a match that should elevate the team's career to the next level.  McIntyre and Ziggler are currently feuding against The Shield in an intense rivalry, teaming with Braun Strowman to do so, are both technically great individuals and could well be a legendary tag team of the future.  Let's just hope old Vincent keeps them together long enough to make a considerable impact. 

1)  Undisputed Era

There is no other team more worthy than being called the WWE's Greatest Tag Team Today than the Undisputed Era, a team consisting of Roderick Strong, Kyle O-Reilly, Bobby Fish and Adam Cole, and one of the few modern teams to use the Freebird Rules to select members to compete in a match.  Strong and O'Reilly are the current Tag Team Champions and are ripping up the NXT Roster having held the belts twice for over 300 days in total.  Matches against the Authors of Pain, Sanity, and Mustache Mountain will be talking points for years to come thanks to the creative spark and flare they bring to the ring match in and match out.  When the Undisputed Era finally make their main roster debut the other teams better be ready.

The wave of change continues to ripple throughout the wrestling world as it has officially been announced that, after 29 years wrestling for the WWE, The Undertaker has retired from the squared-circle. Randy Orton to Sign With AEW

Last week it was rumored that WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar was in talks with All Elite Wrestling, with a possible move after Wrestlemania 35, and this week, according to Destination PW , it is said that the Florida outfit has now approached 'The Viper' to be their first direct signing from WWE. Randy Orton has been with the WWE for 17 years and since his in-ring debut in April 2002 and has gone on to have 17 various title reigns across both the Raw and Smackdown brands as well as being a 2 time Royal Rumble winner and 1 time Money in the Bank winner.  Orton is one of the greatest wrestlers in the history of the company, and currently holds the position of the veteran heel, a role which would surely become void if he was to leave for AEW.  The motives for 'The Apex Predator' being in talks with AEW is not know, but is presumably linked with a bigger pay check and a less intense work schedule.  What we do know is that if Orton did jump ship a large portion of

Although this year's Wrestlemania is still a month and a half away, I thought why not get into the spirit of things a little early with a celebration of the PPV's epic history.  With a 35 year history, there have been several spectacular Showcase of Immortals events over the years, including Wrestlemania III, XVII, XIX, XXI, and XXXI, however I am now going to try my hardest to convince as many of you Boomers as possible as to why Wrestlemania XXIII is the most exceptional of them all.
