Top 5 Underrated PPVs in WWE History!

As wrestling fans we have all heard of those shows that have left millions of viewers stunned with excitement and have gone down in history as the best 3 hours to ever grace our screens.  Shows such as No Way Out 2000, Wrestlemania XXIII, and Summerslam 2016 are still talking points among us fans to this day, still casting a shadow over the hundreds of other PPVs that have taken place over the years.  But what about those overlooked shows that are often surprisingly entertaining.  Here are the Top 5 Underrated PPVs in wrestling history!

5) Survivor Series 2012

The Shield's debut, Dolph Ziggler captaining a Survivor Series team, and yet another CM Punk spectacle were just a few reasons why Survivor Series 2012 is one of the greatest PPVs of all time, yet still remains underrated to this day.  Dolph Ziggler lead the heel team of Damien Sandow, David Otunga, Wade Barrett, and Alberto Del Rio (an odd but amazing collective if you ask me) against Mick Foley's face team and won the match in what was a surprising yet pleasing result.  We all boo Ziggler but love him deep down.  In the main event the trio of Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins made their presence known by interfering in the main event by Powerbombing Ryback through the announcers table enabling CM Punk to retain his WWE Title in a match that also included old John Boy.  A solid show that ended in what was appropriate chaos.

4) TLC 2009

TLC 2009 emanated from San Antonio Texas as the last PPV of an outstanding year for the WWE.  The Show had 7 matches, 4 of which utilized a stipulation related to the TLC name with John Cena facing Sheamus in a tables match, The Undertaker taking on Batista in a Chairs match, Christian and Shelton Benjamin going head to head in a Ladder war, and in the main event, Jeri-Show defending the Tag Team Titles against DX.  The Christian vs Benjamin match was, in my opinion, the best match of the night due to it's athleticism and ability to elevate the ECW title one last time; this was Benjamin's last great showing in the WWE.  The main event Tag Team Title match latest 22 minutes and featured Chris Jericho, the Big Show, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H in some incredible action in a contest that was entertainment through and through.  Get on the Network and give it a watch.

3) Survivor Series 1995

During the mid-1990's WWE, then WWF, was going through one of it's worst periods in history in terms of storylines and in-ring product, however, Survivor Series 1995 is sort of a diamond in the rough and here's why. We didn't just get 1 or 2 Elimination matches, but 4, and they were all tantalizing in their unique ways, the best of which being The Darkside, who's team included The Undertaker, taking on The Royals, headed by Hunter Hearst Helmsley (Triple H).  On top of this Bret Hart managed to defeat Diesel for the WWF Championship in a 24 minute No DQ match that rocked the house and was a stand out moment from the mid-90's.  This installment of Survivor Series could well have saved WWE in it's time of turmoil.

 2) Armageddon 2008

Armageddon 2008 was the last ever PPV for the December spectacular and it was the right way to end the Armageddon series.  We had a great ECW contest in Matt Hardy facing Vladimir Kozlov in a match that goes well overlooked, which was followed by a number 1 contenders match to the Intercontinental Championship between CM Punk and Rey Mysterio, which was the first time the two had clashed head-to-head on PPV.  John Cena defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Chris Jericho in a banger of a contest, but the main event was what made the night one to remember as Jeff Hardy finally captured the WWE Title by seeing off Triple H and Edge in one of the best triple threat matches in history.  This was an all-round great PPV topped off with an even better main event.

1) Vengeance 2003

How this event isn't in everyone's top 10 PPVs of all time I will never know as it was pure gold.  This Smackdown exclusive show that was fascinating from start to finish, with the first match being a 20 minute plus encounter between Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit that made everyone know they were in for a treat.  In the middle of the show we had The World's Greatest Tag Team take on Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman in a Tag Team Title match, and John Cena went to-to-toe with The Undertaker in a wild brawl that perfectly summed up the Ruthless Aggression Era.  The main event was Kurt Angle vs Brock Lensar vs Big Show in a match that pitted Smackdown's best against one another for the Undisputed Championship.  Angle won the match and the belt to cap of a great night in Denver.
