We All Love A Heel!!!

Image
In wrestling, as we all know, there is a similar theme throughout every match, every storyline, and every angle, that being a face going head-to-head with a heel, bar the odd exception in which a face versus face or heel versus heel showdown takes place.  Faces, the lovable, kind-hearted do-gooders we all cheer for are seen as being the reasons we all invest in wrestling in the first place, with the sole purpose of our viewership being to see the heroes come out on top.  Although we cheer the babyfaces, is it really the good guys we love or are the heels the reasons we tune in week after week?  Let's take a look! Throughout wrestling history we have seen a multitude of faces who have been the poster-boy of an era for their respective promotions.  For example, we have had Hulk Hogan in the late 80's in the WWE, Bret Hart in the mid-90's, and AJ Styles in the mid-2000's for TNA, but with every great face we have a great heel to rival.  Hogan's being Andre,...

G1 Climax 2018: Best Ever?

Image
New Japan Pro Wrestling's G1 Climax has just ended in spectacular, if not shocking, fashion, with the main event capping off a tournament which was outstanding from start to finish.  Let's take a look back at the highlights and heartbreak from this years tournament. Let's start by talking about the man that would go on to win the entire thing, that being The Ace Hirsohi Tanahashi.  Tanahashi's tournament kick-started on July 14th with a huge victory against fellow veteran Minoru Suzuki, a man that has never won the tournament but took The Ace to the absolute limit.  After putting on classics against Jay White, Hangman Page, and Kazuchika Okada, Tanahashi would win Block A after netting 15 points.  Although it was a close call with Okada who got 13 points, you can't argue with the fact that Hiroshi was deserving of topping the Block's table. In Block B it was Kenny Omega's Golden Lovers partner Kota Ibushi who finished at the top with 12 points ...

Top 5 Summerslam Matches of all Time

Image
The Summerslam PPV has been thrilling the WWE Universe for the past 30 years and will sure do the same this year when it comes to us live from the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York, on August 19th.  Over it's three decade lifetime Summerslam has produced spectacular matches that will be treasured forever, however, there are some bouts that stand out from the rest, so join me now as I attempt to count down the Top 5 Summerslam Matches of all Time!!! 5)  Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero- Summerslam 2005 In 2005 long time friends and on/off rivals Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero took their feud to the next level with a series of contests that started at Wrestlemania XXI and culminated at the Hottest Event of the Summer.  After some shenanigans, and betrayal, which saw Guerrero claim he was the father of Mysterio's son Dominick, the score would finally be settled at Summerslam in a Ladder match in which the custody of Dominick was hanging in the balance.  A...

World of Sport...Improving!

Image
On Saturday ITV brought us the second installment of the rejuvenated World of Sport Wrestling, now better known as WOS, which drew in over 600,000 viewers. The show opened with the trio of current WOS Champion Rampage Brown coming to the ring with fellow heel cohorts Sha Samuels and Danny Hope in a segment they liked to call their Championship celebration.  We all know that celebrations never last long in the wrestling world and this one was no different, as just a few minutes in Joe Hendry made his was into the arena to challenge Rampage to a Title match right there, right then.  With GM Stu Bennett at ringside to call the shots, the match was on!  In an intense encounter that showed Rampage in much better light, thanks to Grado not being involved, both men got a couple of near-falls, hit signature moves and generally got the audience excited for the rest of the show.  This was worthy of being the main event, but even as the opener it was a match that helped to l...

Will Reigns Reign at Summerslam?

Image
Hello folks, how are you all enjoying the build to the double-header of Brooklyn IV and Summerslam 2018?  Personally, I see Brooklyn as being the main show and Summerslam being a cooling off period, but I suppose for many fans it's been like that for the past three years.  Speaking of Summerslam, let's get into the heart of the article. After defeating Bobby Lashley to become number 1 contender to the Universal Title on Raw a few weeks back, Roman Reigns is due to fight Lesnar at Summerslam on August 19th at the Barclays Centre in New York.  Although the Big Dog has been in the main event scene since Wrestlemania 31 he has never bested the Beast in Incarnate when it comes to a Title match, however, that all looks to change at Summerslam. We all know that Brock Lesnar only really turns up in the WWE when it suites him, with the audience being lucky if they see the Beast five times a year.  These five times, as minute as they are, may turn obsolete with Lesnar...
